What is a door access control system?
A door access control system is essentially a digital door-entry device that determines the identity of those allowed access to an area and their access times, based on authenticated digital credentials rather than keys. It consists of three main components: digital credentials, a doorside reader or controller, and a cloud dashboard with live logging of door access activity.
In essence, you hand over a credential, the machine confirms the system recognises it, and if a match is found, your door unlocks—all while you're logged in. With contemporary systems, including biometrics, card sharing, and even buddy punching, the days of such options are long gone

How does a 4-door access control system work?
Present Credential
At any of the 4 connected doors, the user taps their card, scans their face or fingerprint, or enters a PIN at that door's reader.
Authentication
The system checks the credential against the authorized user database in under a second, independently for each door, so different doors can run different access rules.
Grant / Deny Access
The specific door unlocks for authorized users; it stays locked and raises an alert for unauthorized attempts. The other 3 doors are unaffected.
Log Event
Every event across all 4 doors is time-stamped and pushed live to the cloud dashboard via REST API and is available to any connected HRMS, ERP, or payroll system without manual exporting.

RFID or Biometrics: Which is better for a 4-door access control system?
